Are Ugandans ready for E-Mobility?

President Museveni has urged Ugandans to shift to electric cars as the country joins global powers to contain a looming recession amid climate change concerns world over.

According to the president, Uganda needs Shs20billion to develop more affordable electric auto motives.

Electric mobility also known as E-mobility is the use of electricity to power the transport infrastructure as an alternative to fossil fuels which would also be cheaper.

Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta has promoted his former Aide-de-Camp as the new commander of the army, with less than three weeks to the end of his second and final term.

Major General Peter Mbogo Njiru was promoted to a Lieutenant General and replaces his predecessor who is set to retire.

President Kenyatta’s current aide-de-camp has also been promoted to a Brigadier in the more than 20 appointments recommended by Kenya’s Defence Council.

Only one woman, Colonel Ziporrah Kalondu Kioko, was among the 20 military appointments and changes announced by the president.

She was promoted to Brigadier and will head the Department of Defence's strategic communication wing.

The Democratic Party (DP) president Norbert Mao has been appointed as the Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, a day after he brokered a deal with President Museveni.

On Thursday afternoon, Museveni used powers vested in him under Articles 113 (1) and 114 (1) of the 1995 Constitution to announce Mao as the new minister in for Justice.

The appointment was confirmed by Museveni in a tweet.
