Five people have been confirmed dead in a Muyembe-Nakapiripirit road accident in Mbulambuli district that occurred last night 19th, July 2022.
According to police, the accident happened last night at 10pm at Buyaga Town Council Bulambuli district along Muyembe-Nakapiripirit road when a speeding trailer knocked a Bajaj motorcycle.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Rogers Namawongu aged 32 a resident of Sironko, Zida Mutonyi aged 47 from Sironko, Rose Watsemwa aged 34 years also from Sironko and two unidentified.

He adds that fuel tanker registration number UAR 753K from Mbale heading to Kapchorwa knocked the pedestrians who were on Bajaj motorcycle number UFL 488F.
Taitika says that the bodies of the deceased have been taken to Muyembe Health Center IV for post-mortem meanwhile the unknown driver of the truck has escaped.
