88.1 signal FM (Radio Kabonero) is Eastern Uganda`s No. one live Radio and the best Radio brand in Eastern Region with well-blended programmes done by a team of young proffessional broadcasters. Signal FM is a unique commercial FM station broadcasting from Bugisu, the land of plenty. And its based in Mbale town,the commercial capital of the middle Eastern region of Uganda.
Mbale the major eastern city is situated 265km away from Uganda’s capital city Kampala. Katinvuma Broadcasts & General Limited, a private limited liability company based in Uganda, East Africa, operates signal FM.The offices and studios are convenientely located at Plot 2 Court Road, Bugisu Cooperative Union Building (B.C.U).
The programmes are terrestrially linked from the studios in Mbale town to a 2kw transmetre in a 12 kilometre line of sight at Buwalasi UTV mast erected 75metres high on an altitude of 1560 metres above sea level.
The mast site was strategically choosen carefully by the then TV/Radio European engineers as the best TV/FM transimission site that covers all the eastern districts of Uganda and boyond sasisfactorily though with fringes /shadows in a few areas shielded by Mt. Elgon steep ranges. In our famous house style, the station is locally known as “Signal Embooko”

Our major language of broadcast are English, Luganda and Lumasaba.others are Ateso and Adhola.
