Two Months Old Baby in Mbale City Burns to Ashes Inside House

.....

Police in Mbale City are investigating circumstances under which a two months old baby got burnt to ashes inside a house.

Police report shows that the incident happened on Wednesday night 14th September, 2022 at Wagagi Cell, Nkoma Ward, Northern City Division in Mbale City.

According to the Elgon region police spokesperson, Rogers Taitika, the baby was burnt inside the house when the parents had gone to work leaving him alone in the house.

He noted that the police were alerted by neighbours who first saw the smoke and flames and also alarmed to call other residents who rushed in and helped in fighting out the fire.

Unfortunately, the baby had already burnt to ashes.

Taitika urged parents to desist from leaving children alone in the houses without any adult so as to prevent such incidences from happening.

Bruno Wabulakha, the father of the deceased child said the fire could have been triggered by an electric short circuit.

By press time, police had taken the body to Mbale city mortuary for postmortem.
