State House Anti-Corruption Unit Arrests Mbale City Bosses, Land Board Members

 State House Anti-Corruption Unit has today, 15th September 2022 arrested top Mbale City officers and land board members for allegedly conniving to sell over ten hectares of government land located at Nakaloke in Northern City Division, Mbale City.

In a telephone interview with Signal radio, the Elgon regional police spokesperson, Rogers Taitika, identified the suspects as Aaron Mulyanyuma, former Town Clerk of Nakoloke Town Council, Kasimu Wamboka former Town Clerk of Nauyo-Bugema Town Council and other seven Mbale city land board members.

He said that the suspects are accused of forging documents and conniving with land grabbers to give away Nakaloke town council land.

Taitika also added that investigations have started and noted that once complete, the suspects will be taken to court to answer charges of corruption and illegal sale of government properties.

He cautioned public servants to take this arrest as an example advising them to always respect government assets before the law catches up with them.
