Panic as husky dog mistaken for predator in Namibia

...

A dog hiding in a bush in a Namibian town caused panic after worried residents mistook it for a predator that could devour their domestic animals, local media report.

Videos shared by the Namibian Sun new site show police and emergency response teams at the site in Ehenye on Wednesday, as cautious crowds watched from a distance.

But after realising the dog, a husky breed, was harmless, children ran after it, the Namibian Sun reports.

The dog was found hours later and returned to its owner - who had reported it as missing to the police.
