Hussein Mbalangu: Mogadishu Sack Coach After Four Months

Somalian giants Mogadishu City FC have confirmed the sacking of Ugandan Coach Hussein Mbalangu.

The club announced the developments after a poor start into the new 2022 league season.

The news comes in the wake of Mogadishu’s 4-0 loss to Heegan FC, a result that compounded the team’s poor show.

They have so far lost four of their five opening league games, with a point off Horseed in a 2-2 draw on August 15 their only positive result to show.

“The management of the club had an emergency meeting about the downfall of the club,” Mogadishu said in a statement.

“The administration sat after consecutive defeats and has questioned the cause of the situation. Finally, the administration agreed on August 23 to end the first coach Hussein Mbalangu’s contract at the club.”

Cadil Nuur Anir has temporary taken charge of the club.

Mbalangu, appointed midway in April this year, has been shown an exit door after four months in charge.

The news of his sacking has been met with negative views from the fans who claim that he was not backed by quality players.

Mbalangu is an experienced coach who had previous stints with Arua Hill and Mbarara City FC.
