17 Year Old Survives Lynching For Stealing Local Council II Chairman’s Cassava in Garden

 A 17 year old boy has survived community lynching for alleged theft of fresh cassava in Bukedea.

 The boy identified as Hussein Igalat, a resident of Igala cell, Omugurai Ward in Bukedea Town Council in Bukedea district on sunday, 21st August 2022 evening survived being lynched by an angry mob after he was caught red-handed uprooting the cassava belonging to Kelment Okiror the local council two chairperson of Tamula ward in Bukedea Town Council.

Upon his arrest, Igalat was forced by the angry mob to pack his stolen fresh cassava and collect the cassava cuttings to carry on his head as he sat on a motorcycle taking him to Bukedea Central Police Station.

 Kelment Okiror, said he visited his garden two days back and was shocked to realize that only the cassava stems were standing in the garden with all cassava uprooted.

He said it was a struggle for him to intercept Igalat.

Julius Ekudo, the local council one chairperson orapada cell confirmed this saying the angry community members tasked the alleged thief to carry all his stolen cassava to police.

 Igalat is now detained in Bukedea Central Police Station.
