Locals from Magale Sub County at the areas of Naluwande in Manafa District have a reason to smile after their former area Member of Parliament Hon. Simon Mulongo through a donation from the Norwegian friends of Uganda donated a multimillion community primary school to them.

He said that the school has now been handed over to the District administration for management adding that it was constructed through the efforts of the community since they donated six acres of land now hosting the school and have already changed its ownership to the name of the school.

John Musila the Manafa District LC 5 Chairperson said that the school has come timely since the Naluwande area residents have been suffering a lot due to the long distances the pupils have to walk to access free education adding that this shall help in improving on education quality in the area.

He revealed that he will ensure that the school starts operations as soon as possible but will also get registered as a government property and get an index number to allow the pupils seat for their final Uganda Peoples Examinations by Uganda National Examination board.

He said that the school should also be changed to St. Joseph Naluwande Wamai primary school in honor of Mzee Francis Wamai and those who donated the free land for construction of the school.

Joseph Bernard Khayemba the Manafa District Inspector of schools while reacting on the donation said that he is totally impressed by the structures and will fight to ensure that the school is fully registered to start operations to improve on education standards in the area.

Khayemba said that the District has 156 legal primary schools so far and if registered Naluwande will be the make the total 157 adding that he is to ensure quality education through strict supervision of teachers and pupil attendance in school.

Philip Mabere the Local Councilor (LC 3) Magale Sub County said that he is totally impressed and is ready to rally the locals in support of the school since there is a need to start mobilization for pupils who will study there despite the fact that it’s totally knew and has no record.

The Manafa Resident District Commissioner Mubarak Magomu says that he impressed by the good work done by the constructors who did a very good job using limited resources and less money hence the need for the District leadership to recognize them and give search related work for the loyalty and profession they have shown.
